I am a metalsmith, artist, jeweler and mother. Daughter of a painter father and psychologist mother, I grew up in the mountains edging Los Angeles, California. As a child, I was drawn to the tinier, more contained objects of art, be it man-made or natural. I spent much of my time scanning the world around for rocks, insects, bird nests, skulls, etc. This attention to detail eventually led me to jewelrymaking.
Spending many years creating and selling beaded jewelry, I yearned to learn more. In my mid-20's I moved from Los Angeles to Portland, Oregon to attend Oregon College of Art and Craft and in 2011 graduated with a BFA in Metal Arts. I have spent the years since working on my current line of jewelry from my studio in Portland, Oregon. I am driven to make work that is unusual and elegant. By merging silver with gold I can create color and dimension. Combining unexpected elements such as faceted precious stones with reticulated darkened silver, I create a feeling that is both fine and precious, yet earthy and warm. Each piece of jewelry is thoughtfully handmade and one-of-a-kind. All gemstones are high-quality and unique. The result is sophisticated yet edgy, forward-thinking jewelry that can be worn by all women. |
